Laura,

What about trying a baby sling?  I've had alot of luck with
very "distracted" babies with the sling.  They snuzzle up and stay at the
breast.  I would think if there were sensory issues that they would have
already presented themselves, but whatever the underlying issue is, the
sling might help.
