I have never heard of this nor read of this to my memory, and I read
voraciously and subscribe to Ob/Gyn medical news and updates.
However, now that you mention it, both my sister and I were in our late 30s
when we had our last baby and tubal ligation. She went thru menopause at
about age 45 and I am having very few periods at 46. Our mom was 51 but did
not have a tubal ligation. I just attributed it to our age, but perhaps it
has something to do with the tubal????
Is there any data on women undergoing tubal ligation having earlier
menopause?
She did not breastfeed but went thru full engorgement. And I breastfed the
last child for 4 yrs with no apparent effects on the lactation from the
tubal.
