"If baby's breastfeeding is ineffective, would think 6x in 24 hours may not
be enough milk removal. (I'm assuming the pump has been checked for
function and mom's pumping routine/technique checked for effectiveness.)
Any chance she's pumping even less than she says/thinks she is? BTW, what
is typical volume pumped per session and overall in 24 hours?"
Hi Karen! We finally had mom cut back from 8 pumps daily because by the
time baby had nursed, then nursed with supplementer it was easily an hour,
then she had to pump, then it was time to start again and she was just
going nuts. (this has been going on for weeks) Even though she is only
pumping 6x daily now, her supply does not seem to have changed. I say
seem, because the amount she pumps varies from day to day depending on
whether or not she got some good feedings in or not.
Any other ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks,
Denny
