Regarding sticky eyes, colostrum is my favorite substance for gently
softening that stuff that can keep a baby from opening an eye.  A new mom is
very happy to see how easy it is to express a drop and with her finger, rub
it along the eyelid until baby is looking at her again.

Many years ago, Betty Crase helped me find 2 references in the literature
supporting the use of milk to cure conjunctivitis.  You might check with
LLLI.
