This is such a great story, thank you for sharing, you woman of great
big NICE bobbers!
Janene, age almost five, announced that she was going to have a
gizzilion children, as many as the old woman in the shoe and of course
she was going to cuzzle them all until they weaned all on their own
"just like you let me wean all on my own" but then she said "can I
cuzzle when we get home?" I said, "Janene, I thought you were weaned?"
She said, "I am, except when I'm cuzzling."
She weaned really just after her 4th birthday, but did nurse 1-2x a week
until she was 4 1/2. Then didn't nurse at all until last weekend--after
seeing hundreds of babies nursing at the LLL Conference in Southern
California. She asked to nurse 3-4 times that weekend, and probably
would have asked more except she was too busy having fun at the
children's activities, swimming, ordering room service, setting our
hotel room on fire, and other fun things. I have no milk--but she
still can latch on well. Now I have no idea when to say she is/was
weaned. But I guess it doesn't matter. She does say she will always
remember cuzzling and that she will cuzzle her kids until they wean
("until they are 4 or 5 or maybe 3, we'll see when they want to stop.")
so that's all that matters!

ps, some say these stories are off topic, but I disagree. To me, they
give me hope that what I do, helping moms breastfeed, is something that
will last for generations. Stories like the teenage sons making sure
girlfriends will breastfeed and Janene nursing her gazilian babies,
those stories give me hope, what I do IS important--what WE do IS important.
