?A sign? that some part of US society/culture is moving beyond the debate of
"can you breastfeed in public?" to "acceptable ways to breastfeed in public".
Sounds like the airline should have some mandatory Bf education;

Joanna Bopp of Alexandria began discreetly nursing when her baby started to
cry just before takeoff on her United flight from Cleveland to Washington
Dulles. The act apparently offended a flight attendant, who told Bopp to cover
herself and the baby.Bopp reluctantly complied, but later asked CoGo: Is that
United's official policy? "Does the airline think breastfeeding is so repulsive
that one must hide under a blanket?" she asked. "Would they rather have
screaming babies on a flight?"No, there is no policy about nursing, said United
spokesman Chris Nardella. "Our customers decide what to do, at their discretion. We
will provide assistance. If a customer seated next to them is uncomfortable
with the situation, we will try to seat that customer elsewhere."The passenger
next to her, Boop said, told her she hadn't noticed her nursing until the
flight attendant demanded coverage.Breastfeeding expert Mairi Rothman, a
nurse-midwife at the D.C. Birthing Center, says that babies should be fed during takeoff
to help them equalize the pressure in their ears. Last month, Maryland
adopted a law that establishes a mother's right to nurse anywhere she has a right to
be. It's hard to remain calm when someone seems to be accusing you of
something disgusting or perverted, Rothman said, but "know deep inside that what you
are doing is right and beautiful. Nursing is what breasts are for.">>
