I believe the main concern with smallpox is the infant coming in contact
with the lesion and that won't happen if they do it after she leaves.  I had
a smallpox vaccination in 1971 and I had a nursing toddler.  No one even
suggested it would be a problem.  I think because we aren't used to smallpox
vaccinations (it's been about 30 + years since they were mandatory in US) we
have lots of fears and questions.
Of interest - saw a 10 yo child this week with an obvious smallpox scar.
Born in US but spent 1995 in Mexico where he was immunized vs smallpox.
