Just had to share this since we have been discussing the future spouses,
boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. Tonight my teen girl (16) had a couple of 'guy
friends' (17 and 18) stop by. Sitting out by my computer was a copy of Lawrence's
text and Aurbach's Breastfeeding and Human Lactation...I had just been typing
up a reply to an email and was looking something up. (Too bad it wasn't my
Breastfeeding Atlas) Anyway...the boys of course saw the words "breastfeeding"
in the titles and just had to see...Haha. Imagine their new concept of
breasts! My poor daughter has been begging me to box up my books so no one can see
them...understand we have shelves full of these books on breastfeeding,
childbirth and babies. (Poor dears I just had this vision....what if they picked a
book off the shelf...like..Active Birth or Pregnancy and Childbirth...now there
would have been an education!) So here they were seeing pics of moms and
babes and latching and abscesses, and asking questions...Amazed that entire books
are written about breastfeeding...amazed that breasts make milk for
babies....Asking silly questions like teen boys do when they are nervous, but getting
correct information. At first my daughter was her usual horrified self, but
soon was teasing me about my books showing her friends more breast than they had
seen in their lives...and then teasing them that her brothers had already seen
more breasts than they had...And I told them that now they knew what breasts
were for and I hoped they thought of that next time they were staring at some
girl's chest...Haha.

It was a fun evening and my daughter got a chance to listen to just how
little some guys her age know! Obviously not the sons of LC's....

Thinking how many years of teens I still have to survive....
