Anecdotally, I have experienced something very similar.  When my daughter was 2 yr. old I began taking domperidone in an attempt to "increase lactation" for another baby.   It was very successful and I experienced what I assume (didn't check it out with a doc, home pregnancy tests (3) were negative) to be "Lactation Induced Amenorrhea" for approximately 4 months at the height of my production.
