Hi, All:  Wouldn't it be easier to have the baby brought in for nursings?
I would think it would be easier for the baby to nurse face-down than to
pump "face-up".  The hospital I'm in welcomes rooming-in babies as long as
there is a responsible adult present at all times to care for the baby.
Arrange for a private room and a crib for the baby.  we've even had babies
visiting for the day in a semi-private room, as long as the responsible
adult is present.  The psychological healing benefits to the mother (and
baby!) would be tremendous.  And the staff would love the chance to ohh and
ahh over a baby!
