This is totally anecdotal, but my birth assistant had me taking it
immediately post partum with my CNM's blessing and they both knew I was
breastfeeding. It did seem to make a big difference in my recovery
time...I felt great and had only very minor soreness following the birth
of my daughter. Much less than following the birth of my son (I did not
use arnica following that birth). And there were no signs of adverse
effects in my daughter.
