As I'm sure you saw in the archives a couple of things could be ruled out,
namely history of sexual abuse and hypoglycemia reactions. Often if the
mother can express by hand more likely pump and NOT have the nausea/vomiting
then you can rule out hypoglycemia but she may have abuse issues.
Another thought that came to mind was maybe the docs should be looking for
horses not zebras. Which is to say, ignore the fact that she is
breastfeeding and look for an illness w/ the presentation she is having:
n&v, elevated wbc, etc. If she is bf frequently as would be the norm then it
may just be coincidental that it seems to correspond w/ the feedings. As I
recall, in my days of bf, just about anything I did was correlated w/ bf
becoz I was bf 'all the time!'
Hope she can cope w/ this and continue to bf. As I also recall from the
archives some of these cases got better w/ time.
