Here's the study to which I was referring to in my last post:
Spontaneous Arousals in Supine Infants While Swaddled and Unswaddled Dury
Rapid Eye Movement and Quiet Sleep, C.Gerard MD, K. Harris, Bradley Thach MD.

My philosophy is mainly attachment parenting, and I am a fan of James
McKenna and his co-sleeping research which I also use extensively, but I do
find the "super swaddle" is really great for babies who are constantly
waking themselves from solitary sleep due to startle. This research points
out that the Moro reflex is triggered several times each hour simply by the
infant sighing or taking a deeper breath.
