I had two clients who were supplementing with formula (for some reason) say
that the news spot led them to believe that their babies' strange stooling
was due to the additive in the formula. They were going to talk to their
doctors about switching. I also suggested that they notify the
manufacturers and the FDA.

Several of my clients who are breastfeeding saw the spot and were shocked
that the man from the FDA was so unconcerned that this product was being
added to the infant formula without proper testing. He just said that it is
"generally regarded as safe" as a food (GRAS) so they didn't need to test it.

The first part of the program was strong but it weakened as the report
allowed the formula company and the FDA and brush it off as a non
issue.  But in my contacts that week, I believe that it did have a
desirable impact on the parents who saw it.
