We are wondering what other NICUs are doing with regards to
expressed breast milk left over after a feeding. Are you discarding
it(ouch), reheating it once or twice(or more)? Is it treated differently
whether it was fresh or previously frozen? We are leaning towards
reheating the milk, but it would be really helpful if we had some
references. I seem to recall a recent post about this with some
research done in Norway(?), but I'm having difficulty finding it in
in the archives. Any info would be appreciated. TIA,
Doreen Vanderstoep, RN, IBCLC
