Hi Everyone:
I have a new mom with 10 day old baby (4 week preemie) who has a UTI. Dr.
gave her Macrobid, but she is concerned to take it. I have read through the
archives and Dr. Hales site, but i am still confused. Should a baby under 1 month
old take it? If not, any ideas for a better choice? She tried Keflex, but
had a reaction! Right now, she is pumping and dumping while syringe feeding
baby. Which is a terrible shame, but she has worked so hard to get baby to
latch and transfer milk! Thanks in advance for help,
BarbCavanaugh RN, Doula, CBE, IBCLC2B (hopefully Oct. 2003!), LLLL
