Incidentally, be careful of using initials - CP usually means
Cerebral Palsey!
I had an interesting experience with chickenpox. My oldest was 7
and my next was 5 when both had full-blown cases of chickenpox. I
was still nursing my 18 month old at the time and wondered if he
would be protected by my milk. He wound up gatting a chicken pock!
(Yes, just one). The only porblem was that when I would ask docs
(including a couple LLLI Med Advisors) if that would be enought to
make him immune, all they could say was "Well, if he gets it, it
wasn't enough." In other words, noone could really say. Well, he's
now 32 and hasn't gotten it again (although I don't really know if
he has been exposed).
I will often use this case (without indicating it was me and my
children) when discussing how breastfeeding reduces illness when the
rest of the family has a bug of some kind.
