I have not seen this happen in practice but did suggest to a mom. I think it
is a great idea, I caution to be sure she is past preterm and sure of her
dates. Also of course make sure she has the info to begin bf at birth, (even
w/ a c/s this can be done w/ help in recovery room. I have assisted thus
many times), room-in, ad lib feeds and all the things that make bf work the
best. At my hospital, I find coming in w/ a written birth plan and having
communicated it to all relevant parties and docs to be most helpful.
