Dear Karen,
I have on a number of occasions seen babies who have one eye that
consistently opens wider than the other, or who have obvious asymmetry in the
facial muscles. None of them have received a medical diagnosis, such as absent
depressor angularis, but they have looked similar to the babies pictured at the
website you listed. Cranial-sacral therapy helped these babies greatly. I
have not had a baby with these problems *plus* the odd ear pinna that you
described. It could be some sort of syndrome. But even so, the cranial-sacral
therapy might help, and surely couldn't hurt.
