I am so pleased at this mom's success I just had to share. She initially
called me because her 2 month old was 1oz. BELOW BIRTH WEIGHT. I had her
come over immediately. She was in tears, she had nursed her other kids no
trouble at all and didn't see why this guy would be different. while
observing her feed I could see he was on her nipple only. She felt no pain
and had no nipple damage. we worked that day on a good deep asymmetrical
latch and a recheck 2 days later. I had her call her doc and negotiate for 3
days to show some weight gain (he wanted 3oz per feed formula via bottle).
When he latched correctly he was swallowing lots and he had a pee diaper
during the visit(2hr.) When she saw the doc 3 days later he was 1 POUND
heavier. now a moth later he has gone from 6#4 to 10#15
