Hello all,

its exciting to actually be able to definitively answer something on
Lactnet! It feels like I finished the Sunday NYT crossword puzzle!

In response to the conversation about contraindications for smallpox
vaccination, CDC has published the following guidelines for potential
smallpox vaccinees:

Women who are breastfeeding should not get the smallpox vaccine (UNLESS they
are exposed to smallpox).

You can refer to the following document, breastfeeding mothers are in the
second group of contraindications.

p

Thanks,

Katherine Shealy
