Hi Becky
Having been thru this many times - I made a list of the ingredients in
Pedialyte compared to what's in breast milk. Pretty much the same
electryolytes we are trying to replace to a "vomiting" bf'fed baby and breast
milk is "pre-digested" so baby gets some nutrients before it comes back up.
Occasionally I get this kind of call, could be overactive let down (if baby
is still little and mom's milk just came in) could be many things but an LC
needs to be part of this discussion if possible. My own dd number two had
some kind of virus at about 6 months, and I was told "no breast milk". She
wouldn't take a bottle and hated Pedialyte from a cup. After reading the
label, I decided to keep nursing her! And told the ped I did.
