How about because there is no evidence base for them?
The MAIN trial some years ago found no benefits ( Midwifery. 1994
Dec;10(4):200-14) and an earlier paper ( BMJ 1992 Apr
18;304(6833):1030-2) found women were less likely to breastfeed if
they used them.
That's not to deny individual experience which may be positive.
