My name is Amy and I am a hospital based LC. I have recently been
approached by our one and only Pediatric office in town about doing some
consulting for them. It sounds as though they want me to do 4-8 hours a week
in their office doing f/u visits for the breastfeeding mothers. I am
thrilled to do this as I already see these mothers in the hospital and now I
will have the opportunity for much closer f/u. My question for some of you
LC's who work with Pediatricians is, Do you charge by the hour, by the
patient, or do you ask for a percentage of the reimbursement? They are
asking me how I want to do that and I'm really not sure. Any suggestions,
along with specific $$$ amounts would be appreciated.
