Wow! I already got an answer Medscape's News Coordinator to my letter
complaining about their blurb seeming to connect BF with RA. Here it is:
"Dear Ms. Brooks,
"Thank you for your email. I appreciate your concern about a misperception
from the blurb and photo. The blurbs are automatically "grabbed" from the
first sentence of the Reuters articles. We will be sure to watch more
carefully for misleading leads in these articles, and I will forward your
comments to my contact at Reuters, who may or may not decide to distribute a
correction.
"Regarding the photo, it may have given the impression that breast-feeding
is a risk factor. However, the article is in part about breast-feeding, so
it was on the topic. Curious or concerned readers would certainly read more,
as you did. However, we will make every effort to select photos that are
more representative of the entire article in the future.
"Thank you again for your comments and for your interest in Medscape."
