Hi Chris,
Are you going to take your IBEED program on the road? Or are you planning
to sell the curriculum to other hospital LCs / educators? We are trolling
around the resources for a method to teach basic BFing to our Mat-Ch staff
and I really don't want to write one from scratch if I can find one ready
to use.
There is a CD out there somewhere that I think can be used in segments,
but I'm not sure it's for HCPs; it may be for parents.
Anyone else know of available curriculums for hospital staff. I do know
about the 18-hour course in prep for Baby-Friendly but that phrase is a Hot
Button here, so I'd rather just talk about learning the Basics and the
other objectives you mentioned as part of your IBEED course.
Thanks,
Phyllis
> I have just finished working on a grant-funded project called "IBEED"
(Integrating Breastfeeding Education to Eliminate Disparities) with Dr.
Lori Winter, the Chapter Breastfeeding Coordinator for New Jersey AAP. We
were teaching multidisciplinary teams of professionals (docs, nurses,
residents, and dietitians) in eight hospitals in NY and NJ (plus two in
Puerto Rico that Lori did on her own). We specifically targeted dietitians
for several reasons.
