Why is there a distinction drawn between advertising packs
for bf moms and ABM moms? Do hospitals endorse one brand of
ABM over another for all Moms? Seems to me unethical to
give out advertising packs for ABM moms as well.

There is one hospital I know of (I can't even remember
where I saw this) that gives all the Moms whose last names
begin with A-L packs from one company. All the M-Z Moms
get the packs from the competing company!

BTW, I wouldn't write off entirely the possiblity of a lawsuit
for illness/death caused by reaction to formula. However, like
the tobacco lawsuits, it will probably take many years and
multiple lawsuits to be able to sue successfully. You need some
good lawyers to prove to a jury that it was the ABM that caused
the damage and that the hospital/formula company/HCP was responsible
for the choice the mother/parents made. It's not impossible, but
not easy. Until now, it's not the path the bf movement has chosen,
but a high visibility tragic (or near tragic) situation could change
that.
