Dear Ellen,
One way formula companies weasel their way into the mailboxes of expectant
mothers is through solicitaion at maternity clothing stores. I helped
write a letter for ProMom.org specifically targeting this unethical
practice (http://www.promom.org/3min/3min_motherhoodmaternity_may02.htm).
Many expectant women buy clothing from these stores, often several times
during their pregnancies, allowing more opportunity for solicitation. It's
discraceful.
