Dear Friends:
     The thread about a mother breastfeeding in Parliament reminds me of
being refused admission into the gaming room at a casino in Atlantic City,
New Jersey. At the time, my baby was in a sling. The rule that was cited to
justify our exclusion was that she was under the legal age for gambling. It
didn't matter that she could just about sit up on her own.
     Seems to me that folks don't want to be reminded of babies. Yet the
world would be such a better place if babies were truly priorities, as has
been pointed out before on LACTNET. Imagine making clean air, clean water,
and fresh food international goals! Imagine dropping any pursuit of armaments
and war, because it isn't good for babies. Imagine everyone caring for and
about babies.
     Sigh....
