I'm sorry that I'm not making myself clear.   I am   aware of the difference 
in suction pressures between pumps and I am not disputing these differences.  
 I think if you reread my above statement ie. particularly the phrase *given 
the same amount of milk removed*, you may better understand my question. 
 In my mind, the effectiveness of the pump is measured by the efficiency of 
milk removal. If both pumps effectively removed the same amount of milk in 
the same amount of time(your assertion), what data are you using to   support 
your other assertion- that the breast is being more *effectively* emptied by 
one (classic) vs. the other (PIS). Certainly if you were comparing the baby's 
suckling removal of 4oz. vs. a pumps removal of the same, a clear cut case 
could be made for the babe's suckling action vs. the alternative BUT in terms 
of treating clogged ducts, can a similar distinction be made and supported   
between pumps with such similar mechanisms?
(If this sounds contentious, I don't mean for it to !)
