We draw up EXACTLY what we need in a syringe or pour it into a volume marked
feeder and then heat that and feed it. Milk is NEVER thawed at room temp or
in warm water unless we are going to use that amount immediately, it is
always thawed in the fridge over the course of a shift or so.

Personally, when I am gavage feeding, I draw into the syringe exactly what I
need to fill the syringe and tubing - no more - not even a drop - and feed
it so as not to waste any. Moms appreciate this!

And of course you know to turn the pump upside down so the fat floats to the
top in a gavage feeding.
