Hi Christine,

I tried Sally's website, but could only get as far as
http://britishlivertrust.org.uk, then had to open and request the rest of
the site...may be my computer...but there is a wealth of info to be found.
I too suffered the abject misery of cholestasis and PUPPS with my first
pregnancy, but was amazed that immediately after delivery (may have even
been during labor) the pruritis was gone (tho the inflamed stretch marks
lasted a bit longer).

It has been my experience, as Rachel said, that there is an increased
incidence of fetal demise, so I have, to the best of my recollection,
induced patients with it, but they often had developed PIH (pregnancy iduced
hypertension) concurrently, necessitating induction anyway. (This is not
always the case however.)

Atarax(Vistaril, Hydroxyzine) causes CNS depression, (sleepy, sleepy, sleepy)
and dries secretions. Dr. Hale suggests watching for sedation, tachycardia,
dry mouth, and categorizes it L1. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is L2 and if
used together, potentiates CNS depression. Agree with Rachel...34
weeks...prematurity.

Just read Dr. Tieman's post....Questran (L1) would love to know more
myself, now! Hope some of this helped.
