I would think the tenderness comes from the fact that the breast is growing
under hormonal influences and the scar tissue isn't elastic or giving.
Years ago I had a mom who had a terrible mastitis with her first child. The
surgeon had opened it and severed the ducts to the lower 2 quadrants of her
breast. She went on to nurse 4 other children and become a LLLL :-) With
each birth that half of her breast would engorge and then it would subside
and involute.
If the duct or ducts were severed under that portion of the breast with the
scar then I suppose this mom with the bite scar could experience the same
sort of problem in one small area, with subsequent involution of the milk
