...is a phrase used by Dr Sears (_Safe & Healthy_ and I think also _The
Baby Book_, perhaps others) and the Breastfeeding Answer Book (p282 rev.ed.
not the brand new one), quoting him; he/they also call it "nuisance
diarrhea" which is the term he prefers, maybe for the reason you give,
Marsha. But if lactase drops help the baby, then doesn't that imply it's
not just rapid emptying? Or are you (is Joan) saying that the rapid
emptying gives the body's own lactase too little time to act, so that
dumping a little extra in on top of the milk helps? I wouldn't know.
I think the term is also used by others but can't remember who.
