Dear Laurie, You just might have to alert authorities if you feel that
baby's health is in danger from underfeeding and mom is unresponsive. I have
never personally called CPS on a breastfeeding mom but I currently have a
WIC client who is being investigated by CPS. She moved here and baby ended
up re-hospitalized, and the hospital here called in CPS over failure to give
a medication (although mom says it was never prescribed in the first place).
If you feel the baby is in danger, you should call CPS. Good luck. Kathy
