Depends on how feisty the mother is feeling!  How
about something like, "I appreciate your concern for
my child's health.  The material I have read about
breastfeeding older infants says otherwise.  If you'd
like, I could send you copies..."  Or, how about,
"Yes, and if continuing to breastfeed benefits ME, it
will also benefit my child.  A happy mom AND a happy
baby--what could be better? (insert big grin from Mom
here)".

Several other impolite responses come to mind, but I
will refrain.  Kathy Dettwyler's web site has some
*wonderful* ideas for responses to idiotic and
ignorant statements, too.
