The thought of a mom with an old bite wound that could open back up when her
new baby nurses about curls my toenails! I had deep nipple fissures which
would only heal sufficiently to stay closed while nursing when I took vit. A
and E supplements. They occurred when my fifth baby was three months old,
and I went 2-3 months with them opening back up every time he latched on (or
I used any kind of pump), despite trying many, many different treatments.
Even then, the same spots would start to open back up, any time I went more
than a few days without taking the vitamin supplements, throughout the rest
of my breastfeeding career, which included nursing that baby to 25 months
old, and my sixth for 20 months. I hope this will help her too!
