Hi, I searched the archives and found one reference to a 4 mo old with
bloody nipple discharge. A mom with an 8 mo old called today with this
same occurrence and wants to know if it is related to breastfeeding,
denies any trauma to area. Peds are puzzled too and recommended warm
compresses as I thought that might help too. Any of you wise lactnetters
have any experience with this occurring in other babies. Who would check
the baby next? I would be happy to hear from you privately or on list as
this mom is worried.
Warm regards,
Ellen Mahony, RN, MS, LCCE, IBCLC
