I would like to revisit a subject that was discussed at good deal in 1996,
brickdust urine. I was wondering if anyone has had any new insight since
then. I can find no references about the subject in my books. The
problem I am having is that nurses are supplementing when ever they see
it. They call it nitrates in the urine ( this is new terminology for
me). The 1996 posts indicated that they are normal in the first 2 days
and could indicate dehydration if after then. Some say it is normal the
first week. Has anyone studied this, or developed a policy, or
guidelines? Any help would be appreciated.
