Thanks Bernice!! Sometimes I hear someone say something that makes me
wonder how much I have been brainwashed, its like a "flash from the past".
The ease, efficiency and of barrier methods cannot be over stated,
especially for breastfeeders. In my breastfeeding classes I get the
occasional question about contraception, but most of the questions come up
in lact. consults later where a pt. has already been given a Rx for pills
and she comes to me with questions.

And LAM is never EVER taught around here, where everybody is Catholic and
low income. Go Figure. A few years ago I asked our director of family
planning if she would let me teach a class on LAM and her response was
"Heavens, no! Our patients could NEVER understand that." Maybe its time to
pursue it again.
