Not sure how to say this but I think there may be some confusion as to how
this thread started. It was in a long chain of emails about a baby that a GI
specialist had put on special formula because the baby was vomitting it's
Mom's milk and the baby was in pain. (unless I'm forgetting something)
As I said to Dr Harvey Karp, I thanked him for the tools once I understood
that he wasn't saying they worked for babies who were truely in pain. I
think all of us agreed once we understood what he was saying. The number one
goal is to help these babies and Mom's out of some awful situations. This is
one tool and elimination diets are another tool. There is some grey area as
to when to jump from one tool to the next.
Of course, it will be helpful to read his book. However, I don't see any
harm in asking him questions without having read the book. He replied to the
thread - thereby inviting questions - which I am sure help his book sales
(and possibly help many babies). The majority of people were just trying to
correctly understand him.
