We have 24 hour visiting, with all the same joys and problems as we are all
noting. However - we purchased signs (magnetic) that can be placed on the
door by the mother. They say, "Mom and Baby Sleeping" "No Visitors" "Mom
and Baby Feeding" (there may be a welcome sign too, I forget).
My philosophy is, having a baby is a celebration. I will teach visitors if
they'd like the teaching too. Certainly sometimes moms put off feeds - but
then somebody needs to ask them what THEY want to do about feeding the baby.
There's little enough control of the whole process let alone the
environment. But the little signs do help. (We do have private rooms except
during the boomlets.)
