I have had my legs injected  for "very gross veins" twice while breast
feeding.  I'm not sure of the substance that they used.  I know it was a
form of sodium of some sorts.  Both of my babies were older.  (15 months I
think).  I was told that the solution was OK.  After having it done the
second time I was told to wait until I stopped BF because of the extra
fluid we Moms have  secondary to BF.  Dr. Charles Berlin said he saw no
problem with this therapy and BF.  But again, I'm not certain of the drug
used.
