My mother tells the story of having mitts on me as a newborn b/c I kept
scratching myself. Apparently, my great-grandmother went through the
roof b/c she said I wouldn't be smart if my hands were covered. Wonder
what they knew...?
As for hospital swaddling, I have seen many a babe who was wrapped up in
3 blankets and a sleeper!
