Story:
About 4 years ago I decided to try being more 'hands off'. I was in
a patient's room, she was trying to get baby latched on and was so close,
I was talking her through it. Just then a staff OB nurse walked in, put
the baby to the breast, 'very hands on', and I stood there looking
stupid.
Now I try to be moderate, not 'hands off' but not too much 'hands
on'. I always ask the mother if I she would like me to help her get the
baby on, or get baby on so it is more comfortable, then wash my hands and
help her if she wants the help.
