I haven't been following this conversation closely, however, I recall perhaps
2 years ago there was a study published in JOGGN regarding cord care. The
outcome was that the application of alcohol to cords did not enhance drying.
Thus, the recommendation was to stop this practice because it is a task being
performed out of habit, without evidence of optimizing outcomes.
