Hi Laura,
I use the bolus technique with a syringe and tube, not the gravity.
Babies are very smart, and they catch on quickly when rewarded with milk
for a correct suckle.
I also use Hazelbaker fingerfeeders, and sometimes fingerfeed with the
Lact-aid or SNS if mom is already using one of those devices at breast,
and only for stronger babies who are able to obtain enough milk. The
syringe and tube device works better for babies who are weak, hypotonic,
SGA or preterm, in my experience.
