Yes!  This is *exactly* what happens!!  And, we are called in to "fix the
breastfeeding problem" because the baby is "always hungry and never sleeps".

1 - 2 hour lactation consultations are inadequate for this dilemma - though
the issue is generally apparent within that time-frame.  A
breastfeeding-savvy, postpartum doula is invaluable for this situation.  It
has been my experience that it is "modeling" and reassurance that is
generally the answer.

Too bad this then becomes yet another expense for the new family.  Has
anybody had any luck with effective *pre* natal baby-care teaching
techniques that carry over to actual pp application?
