Dear Friends:
About the babies that want to be at breast frequently until the
mother's milk volume increases.....
Are people assuming that these babies want increased volume? What
about babies that want continual comfort after being born because they are:
hurt/ alarmed at this new world/dealing with gravity/missing the continual
feeds from the placenta/adjusting to a new life? Breastfeeding is more than
food or drink. It is love and medicine and entertainment.
Maybe what makes these babies slow down their feeding frequency after
the milk volume increases are all the factors in human milk that make them
sleepy?
Warmly,
Nikki Lee
