I think, in addition to the actual blood loss, and the pre- and post-birth
hemoglobin, the blood pressure is a factor. In other words, if the mother
suffered a big dip in blood pressure, or had a low BP for an extended time,
then the pituitary may have been hypo-perfused and thus Sheehans' syndrome.
